Absolutely. Will Caitlin Clark come into the WNBA and do what she\u2019s doing right now, immediately? Absolutely not. Not going to happen,&#8221; Swoopes said in part in January.<\/p>\n<p>Swoopes later praised Clark\u2019s accomplishments. Clark broke Kelsey Plum\u2019s mark for most points scored in a NCAA Division 1 women\u2019s basketball career and then surpassed Lynnette Woodward\u2019s mark, if you include the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) which predated the NCAA. She also tallied more points than Pete Maravich.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-container desktop ad-h-50 ad-w-300\">\n<div data-iu=\"lb3\" class=\"ad gam\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-container mobile ad-h-250 ad-w-300 ad-placeholder-load\">\n<div data-iu=\"ban4\" id=\"mobile-mw-ad-ban4\" class=\"ad gam inline\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>For whatever reason, Woodard said in April that she was the one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/sports\/lynette-woodard-believes-her-scoring-record-stands\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">who still held the record<\/a> with 3,649 points in four seasons with the Kansas Jayhawks. Clark ended up finishing with 3,951 points.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am the hidden figure, but no longer now,&#8221; Woodard said before the national title game. &#8220;My record was hidden from everyone for 43 years. \u2026 I don\u2019t think my record has been broken because you can\u2019t duplicate what you\u2019re not duplicating. She denied in April that she was jealous of Clark. So, these questions are only annoying because she&#8217;s young. She&#8217;s a rookie. You keep asking us these questions as if she&#8217;s a grown-ass woman that&#8217;s been in this league for years. No, she&#8217;s doing her job.
