conducted 732 patrols across different areas in the city during the first hald of this year and issued a total of 107 fines, expert Major General Dr Muhammad Issa Al Adhib, Director of the Mounted Police Station, has revealed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"story-block\">\n<p>\u201cMounted patrols have become an essential component of Dubai\u2019s security operations, ensuring residents\u2019 peace of mind. With their traditional ways, the patrols navigate the emirate\u2019s streets, promoting a sense of security and safety among the community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"PA_mid-article\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"cacher\">\n<div class=\"story-block\">\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/whatsapp.com\/channel\/0029Va23xpxEFeXuMgVqck3B\">Get exclusive content with Gulf News WhatsApp channel<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"PA_mid-article\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"cacher\">\n<div class=\"story-block\">\n<p>Al Adhib explained that the station supports Dubai Police\u2019s strategic goals of sustaining a \u201csafe city\u201d and \u201ccommunity wellbeing\u201d besides preventing crime.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"story-block\">\n<p>\u201cThe mounted patrols are particularly effective in apprehending suspects in areas inaccessible to vehicle patrols, such as narrow alleys. These patrols resulted in the apprehension of \u201cwanted\u201d individuals and vehicles and the issuance of 107 traffic fines.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"story-block\">\n<p>Major Dhahi Al Jallaf, Deputy Director of the Dubai Mounted Police Station, said, \u201cIn the first half of the year, the police station served 1,245 beneficiaries, including 1,114 individuals who received equestrian training, eight who benefited from horse care services, 69 who enjoyed desert horse riding and pony rides, and 86 who utilised horse transport services. The station also gifted 18 horses to the public, reflecting Dubai Police\u2019s commitment to community happiness.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"story-block\">\n<p>The Mounted Police Station maintains 122 highly trained and qualified horses, supported by a team of veterinarians and nurses who ensure the horses\u2019 health and fitness. This includes preventive care, injury treatment and regular health checks before field deployment. The Mounted Police Tent Pegging Team is the first police team in the UAE to take part in this internationally recognised equestrian sport, showcasing the riders\u2019 high skills and ability to handle horses efficiently.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"story-block\">\n<p>Al Shamsi added that the station has created a suitable environment for the team, offering interested riders the opportunity to join and selecting a core group to form the team.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"story-block\">\n<p>\u201cThe training field for this sport was prepared according to standardised criteria, and the
