Check out what&#8217;s clicking on Foxnews.com.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A prominent humanitarian organization revealed on Tuesday that approximately 500 children have succumbed to hunger in Sudan.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>These heartbreaking losses have occurred since the outbreak of intense conflict in the East African nation this past April, as reported by a leading aid group.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Save the Children highlighted that over 31,000 children have been deprived of access to vital malnutrition treatment and care because of the closing of 57 nutrition centers in Sudan.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"speakable\">About 500 children have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/125-sudanese-soldiers-freed-being-captive-rival-paramilitary-force-red-cross-says\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">died from hunger in Sudan<\/a> \u2014 including two dozen babies in a government-run orphanage in the capital of Khartoum \u2014 since fighting erupted in the East African country in April, a leading aid group said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-container mobile ad-h-250 ad-w-300 ad-placeholder-load\">\n<div data-iu=\"ban1\" id=\"mobile-mw-ad-ban1\" class=\"ad gam inline\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-container tablet ad-h-50 ad-w-300\">\n<div data-iu=\"lb2\" class=\"ad gam\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"speakable\">Save the Children also said that at least 31,000 children lack access to treatment for malnutrition and related illnesses since the charity was forced to close 57 of its nutrition centers in Sudan.<\/p>\n<p>Sudan was plunged into chaos after monthslong tensions between the military and a rival paramilitary force exploded into open fighting on April 15. The conflict has turned Khartoum and other urban areas into battlefields. Many residents live without water and electricity, and the country\u2019s health care system has nearly collapsed.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-container desktop ad-h-50 ad-w-300\">\n<div data-iu=\"lb2\" class=\"ad gam\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Never did we think we would see children dying from hunger in such numbers, but this is now the reality in Sudan,&#8221; said Arif Noor, Save the Children\u2019s director for Sudan. &#8220;We are seeing children dying from entirely preventable hunger.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-container mobile ad-h-250 ad-w-300 ad-placeholder-load\">\n<div data-iu=\"ban2\" id=\"mobile-mw-ad-ban2\" class=\"ad gam inline\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The violence in Sudan is estimated to have killed at least 4,000 people, according to Liz Throssell, a spokesperson for the U.N. human rights office. Activists and doctors on the ground, however, say the death toll is likely far higher.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-container tablet ad-h-50 ad-w-300\">\n<div data-iu=\"lb3\" class=\"ad gam\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/200-afghan-government-officials-security-forces-killed-taliban-takeover-un\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>MORE THAN 200 AFGHAN GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, SECURITY FORCES KILLED FOLLOWING TALIBAN TAKEOVER: UN<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>More than 4.4 million people were forced to flee their homes either to safer areas in Sudan or cross into neighboring countries, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/un-migration-agency-elects-amy-pope-american-1st-female-director\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.N. migration agency<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-container mobile ad-h-250 ad-w-300 ad-placeholder-load\">\n<div data-iu=\"ban3\" id=\"mobile-mw-ad-ban3\" class=\"ad gam inline\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Save the Children said that between May and July, at least 316 children, mostly under 5 years of age, died of malnutrition or associated illnesses in the southern While Nile province. Of them, about 6.3 million people live in areas that are a step away from an official famine classification, according to the agency.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-container mobile ad-h-250 ad-w-300 ad-placeholder-load\">\n<div data-iu=\"ban5\" id=\"mobile-mw-ad-ban5\" class=\"ad gam inline\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-container tablet ad-h-50 ad-w-300\">\n<div data-iu=\"lb5\" class=\"ad gam\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Meanwhile, clashes have raged this week around a military camp south of Khartoum as the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/crime\/robbery-theft\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">attempted to seize the crucial facility<\/a>, the warring sides reported.<\/p>\n<p>Fierce battels were reported last week in Nyala, the provincial capital of South Darfur.
